The Crown Star Tobias Menzies Reacts To Prince Philip's Death; Shares A Quote From Shakespeare To Pay His Tribute
On Friday, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, husband and confidant of the UK's Queen Elizabeth II passed away at Windsor Castle. He was 99. Actor Tobias Menzies, who played the role of Prince Philip in season three and four of The Crown took to his Twitter page and shared a quote from Shakespeare to pay his tribute.

The Crown actor wrote, "If I know anything about the Duke of Edinburgh I'm fairly sure he wouldn't want an actor who has portrayed him on television giving their opinion on his life, so I'll leave it to Shakespeare. "O good old man! how well in thee appears/The constant service of the antique world..." RIP."

Matt Smith, who portrayed the role of a young Prince Philip in the first seasons of The Crown, also paid his tribute. In a statement to US Weekly, he said, "I'd like to offer my condolences to Her Majesty the Queen and the Royal Family. Prince Philip was the man. And he knew it. 99 and out, but what an innings. And what style. Thank you for your service old chap - it won't be the same without you."

On Friday, the official Twitter account of the Royal Family tweeted a statement from Buckingham Palace that read, "It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen has announced the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
